Reps

Rest
45s
Contraindications
Low back pain when rounded — reduce load and torso angle.Setup
Sit with knees bent, torso leaned back about 45 degrees, holding a kettlebell by the horns at the chest.
Execution
- 1Brace the core hard before rotating
- 2Rotate the kettlebell to one side, controlling its weight through the arc
- 3Rotate through center to the opposite side
- 4Keep the chest tall and avoid rounding under the heavier load
- 5Continue alternating for the set
Key cues
- Control the bell, don't let it control you
- Rotate the ribcage through the full range
- Chest stays tall the entire set
- Breathe out sharply on each rotation
Common faults
- Using a kettlebell too heavy for controlled rotation
- Rounding the low back under the heavier load
- Using momentum to swing rather than controlled rotation
- Feet flailing if elevated
Tweaks
- Reduce weight or keep feet down as a regression
- Add a full range tap to the floor for more range
- Slow the tempo for more time under tension
Muscles
Primary: Obliques, Rectus Abdominis
Secondary: Hip Flexors, Grip/Forearms
