Reps

Contraindications
High single-leg knee flexion demand as box height decreases — progress gradually.Setup
Stand on one leg in front of a box/bench, free leg extended forward.
Execution
- 1Extend the free leg forward, off the ground
- 2Lower under control until lightly touching the box
- 3Do not relax fully onto the box
- 4Drive back up to standing through the working leg
- 5Maintain balance throughout
Key cues
- Sit back onto the box, stay controlled
- Extended leg stays elevated
- Chest up throughout
- Push through the whole foot
- Don't rest fully on the box
Common faults
- Relaxing fully onto the box
- Extended leg dropping to the ground
- Losing balance sideways
- Box too low for current strength level
- Rushing the ascent
Tweaks
- Lower the box height progressively over time
- Add slight weight held in front for counterbalance
- Combine with ankle mobility drills between sets
Regressions
Progressions
Muscles
Primary: Quadriceps, Gluteus Maximus
Secondary: Hip Flexors, Core
