Setup

One foot in a single foot cradle at mid-calf, the other leg free, hands under shoulders in a strong plank.

Execution

  1. 1Brace the core in a stable plank with one foot suspended
  2. 2Drive the free knee forward and up in a running motion
  3. 3Extend the free leg back to plank
  4. 4Repeat rhythmically while keeping the suspended-side hip stable

Key cues

  • Keep the suspended-foot hip stable — don't let it rotate or sway
  • Drive the free knee forward with speed but control
  • Shoulders stay stacked over the wrists throughout
  • Switch legs for balanced training

Common faults

  • Suspended hip rotating or dropping
  • Losing plank alignment as tempo increases
  • Free leg swinging out to the side instead of driving forward
  • Straps swinging excessively

  • Slow the tempo for a strength-focused version

Notes

TRX-specific. Angle = intensity: the more horizontal the body relative to the floor, the harder pressing/pulling/plank-style TRX moves become. For pulling movements (rows, face pulls), walking feet toward the anchor and leaning back further increases load. For pressing movements (push-ups, chest press), walking feet away from the anchor and standing more upright decreases load; moving feet closer to directly under the anchor point increases load. Foot position in the straps (heel vs. midfoot vs. toe) also changes leverage and load for lower-body moves. This animal-flow-style movement uses single-foot suspension as the primary instability lever — the free/driving leg's speed is a secondary conditioning lever.
