Contraindications
Low back pain when hips sag — regress range of motion.Setup
Kneel on a mat holding the TRX handles at a low anchor point, hands on the ground or holding straps just above the floor.
Execution
- 1Brace the core hard before initiating the roll
- 2Extend the arms and body forward, straps providing a stable point of contact
- 3Control the descent, resisting the sag into lumbar extension
- 4Pull back to the kneeling start using the abs
- 5Reset the brace fully between reps
Key cues
- Roll out only as far as control allows
- Brace hard before the first inch of movement
- Pull back with the abs, not just the shoulders
- Straight line from knees to hands at full extension
Common faults
- Hips sagging at full extension
- Rolling out too far before earning the range
- Using shoulder momentum to return instead of the core
- Losing the neutral spine position
Tweaks
- Shorten the range as a regression
- Add a pause at full extension
- Progress toward TRX fallout for a more advanced variant
