Contraindications

None significant — good option for those with a TRX and limited other equipment.

Setup

For the feet-in-straps version: place feet in the TRX foot cradles, hands on the floor in a standard push-up position.

Execution

  1. 1Lower the chest toward the floor under control
  2. 2Resist any side-to-side sway from the suspended feet
  3. 3Press back up to full extension
  4. 4Keep the body rigid throughout

Key cues

  • Brace hard against the instability
  • Keep hips level, resist swaying
  • Elbows at 45 degrees
  • Control every inch, don't rush

Common faults

  • Excessive hip sway from the suspended position
  • Sagging or piking to compensate for instability
  • Rushing through reps to avoid the wobble
  • Flaring elbows

Tweaks

  • Switch to hands-in-straps (chest press) version for a different stability challenge
  • Add feet-elevated wide-grip variation
  • Progress to TRX atomic push-up combining knee tucks
