PushTRX
Push-up performed with hands gripping suspended rings or TRX handles instead of the floor — the instability of the rings demands far more shoulder stabilization and core control than a standard push-up.

Contraindications
Shoulder instability — master standard and weighted push-ups first.Setup
Set rings or TRX handles just above floor height. Grip the handles, body in a straight plank.
Execution
- 1Lower the chest between the handles under control
- 2Resist the handles wanting to drift outward
- 3Press back up to full extension, keeping the handles stable
- 4Maintain a rigid plank line throughout
Key cues
- Fight the wobble, don't let the rings drift
- Keep elbows tracking close to 45 degrees
- Brace the core hard against instability
- Control every inch of the descent
Common faults
- Letting the hands/rings drift outward uncontrolled
- Sagging hips due to the added instability demand
- Partial range of motion to avoid the wobble
- Rushing the rep instead of controlling the instability
Tweaks
- Turn the rings out at the top for an RTO (rotation) variation
- Elevate feet for more difficulty
- Add a fly-to-press combination on the rings
Regressions
Muscles
Primary: Pectoralis Major, Triceps Brachii, Anterior Deltoid
