PushDBKB
A front squat combined with an overhead press in one continuous, explosive motion — the squat's upward drive launches the weight overhead, making this one of the most metabolically demanding full-body push movements available.

Contraindications
Requires solid front squat mechanics — regress to separate squat and press practice if form breaks down under fatigue.Setup
Dumbbells or kettlebells racked at the shoulders in front-rack position, feet shoulder-width, elbows high.
Execution
- 1Squat down to full depth, keeping the chest up
- 2Drive up explosively through the legs and hips
- 3Use the upward momentum to press the weights overhead in one fluid motion
- 4Return the weights to the shoulders before beginning the next rep
Key cues
- Squat deep, chest up
- Let the legs launch the weight, don't muscle it with the arms alone
- One fluid motion, not squat-then-press as two separate steps
- Full lockout overhead every rep
Common faults
- Treating it as two separate movements (squat, pause, then press)
- Not squatting to full depth
- Arching the back at lockout
- Losing the front-rack elbow position, dropping the weights forward
Tweaks
- Single kettlebell thruster for a more demanding unilateral/core version
- Goblet-hold thruster with one dumbbell/kettlebell
- Combine with kettlebell swings for a conditioning superset
Regressions
Muscles
Primary: Quadriceps, Anterior Deltoid, Triceps Brachii, Glutes
Secondary: Core, Upper Back
